rules for kindler
here at kindler we are unapologetic about what we are: a very laid back smut-friendly pb community. let's make one thing clear though: while we are smut-friendly, that doesn't mean you're limited to only exploring sexual themes! our members have established diverse, meaningful friend and family storylines here, and our activities range from g-rated to nc-17. to enable all this no-holds-barred creativity, we have a simple set of rules meant to make this a safe and efficient community:

1. be respectful
  • under no circumstances may your character here be actively involved in committing an act of sexual assault against another member character. it does not matter if you have cleared it with the other writer(s) involved. any predatory behavior whatsoever (grooming, sexual violence, sexual harassment, etc.) is grounds for immediate removal. your character may be involved in a sexual assault plot with an npc, but please be explicit and candid about the fact that the character involved is an npc rather than an active member (i.e. a disclaimer in a narrative).

  • you may not involve another writer's character in any plot about sexual assault or harassment without their explicit written consent. this goes for active plots or backstory. we want to be sure that writers understand and consent to the participation of their character in your writing, especially when it comes to acts of sexual violence.

  • be considerate when sharing nsfw imagery. there's no problem with sharing nsfw images or other content, but please either reach out ooc to confirm the other writer is okay with being sent nsfw content without a warning, or keep things behind a descriptive cut tag or hyperlink so that people know what they're clicking into.

  • no ooc kinkshaming, outing, or generally shitty behavior will be tolerated. if you feel like some is being uncool or inappropriate ic, try to de-escalate in character before approaching their writer, and let the mod team know if anything is making you feel uncomfortable or unsafe here. we're here to help you.

    2. joining
  • all characters are welcome here, new or old as long as they're coming in fresh with minimal lines from old communities. we expect people that are active and excited to interact with everyone not just a few characters theirs are connected to.

  • we are app free: no wire, discord, etc. it's not the way we want to run this comm and it's the overwhelming preference of our members, and if you're found to be violating this rule, you will be removed immediately.

  • joining requires an ic or out of character journal. you need one ic post and one ooc post. each post must be backdated so don't forget to check that box. your ooc post should have basic info on your character: full name, age and birthdate, hometown, occupation, etc. you are not required to write a bio but include a blurb of at least 100 words.

  • overrides will be handled on a case-by-case basis and will depend on a variety of things: whether the member has an up-to-date freinds list, whether they've been active on the fp, whether they've been responding to comments on their entries, etc. so if you have questions about whether someone qualifies for override, just ask us and we'll look into it.

  • upon acceptance, you need to run your friends button and intro within 72 hours or risk being removed. remember to reply to the majority of comments in your intro post, too!

  • if you were removed for inactivity and need to re-apply, please also have a recent update to be added back.

    3. activity
  • activity is tracked month to month, just like every other community. you have from the beginning of the month til the end of the month to fulfill your requirements: two posts of any type (narrative, social, playlists, whatever!). we only ask that at least one of the posts is interactive with comments enabled and you reply to a majority of the comments.

  • what's just as important is that you're on the fp commenting intros, ffas and participating in group-wide activities. we take these things, including reasonable effort taken in creating updates into account when considering eligibility for removal or override. if all you're doing is updating and running your fl, you may be eligible for override or removal.

  • filtered posts to specific people or back-dated posts will not count as activity to keep them hidden off the fp in an effort to not have to interact within the community as a whole. we're here to foster connections and be friendly, so keep that in mind.

  • all members are required to submit activity to the mod journal by the end of the month. please make sure to keep your flist up to date and check in for activity checks.

  • we take in general activity levels when evaluating multiple hiatus/extension requests!

  • we encourage member-run comm-wide activities on top of our mod-run activities. any ffa/other activities posted by members are required to have anon commenting disabled. anonymous commenting has always led to problems in the past and do not find the potential entertainment value to outweigh the negatives. if there is a strong desire for anything with anon commenting on, we prefer this to be run by the mods, screened and monitored strictly. thank you for understanding.

    4. rejections
  • as mods, we reserve the right to reject without having to answer rejection inquiries. when it comes down to it, sometimes we have to make judgment calls on who is or is not a best fit for the community. most rejections are simply that we feel you were not a good fit for our community. if you have a linking error or something that can be easily fixed, we will likely comment you about before we do adds! just remember to double check your own application.

  • we suggest using the icons/layouts in app's listed resources. please be self aware if your icons/layouts are out of date/stick out like a sore thumb compared to the other pending apps.

  • we may reject if we feel you have taken on more roles than you can be active as. generally, we feel the character limit should be no more than 3 roles. likewise, we may reject if you have applied and/or removed too many times in order to give other writers an opportunity.

  • if you were removed for failing to meet our activity requirements, you will be rejected if you re-apply without a recent update!
